What's the story behind NOS Vintage Transfers?
The 1970’s and 1980’s were the golden age of shopping malls, and t-shirt shops were an ever-present tenant. Picking designs from an inventory of iron-on transfers, customers could easily get a custom t-shirt made in minutes.
Fast forward to today, and with these t-shirt shops long gone, NOS (New Old Stock) transfers keep popping up in auctions and warehouse sales. At Megadeluxe, we’ve become huge fans and collectors of vintage transfers. Along the way we’ve come up with our own recipe to revive these transfers and to get them consistently heat pressed onto new t-shirts as well as a few select NOS vintage blank tees.
