T-Shirt FAQs

What's the turnaround on an order?
5-8 business days once we receive a finalized design.

Are Screen Printed designs printed on transfers and then heat pressed onto a t-shirt?
Yes. This process has been around for decades. Designs are screen printed on paper with plastisol ink - same ink used for t-shirts. These prints can easily last for 50 washes, and become softer with each washing.

What's a Direct To Film Transfer?
A direct to film (DTF) transfer is a heat-transfer process that involves printing a design onto a film and then transferring onto a t-shirt using a heat press. DTF has been around since the early 2000s but really started to be a popular process around 2020. DTF prints can last for 50 washes.

How do you determine the final price of a t-shirt order?
It comes down to a couple of factors: size of the design, and how much ink will be needed to produce your particular design and t-shirt. The larger the size and the more ink a design uses, the more our printing company charges us for each print.

What other t-shirt brands do you carry?
Besides brands we normally carry: American Apparel, Gildan, Comfort Colors, Bella+Canvas, depending on availability from our supplier, we can also source other brands such as Hanes, LAT, Next Level, and JERZEES.

What other types of apparel do you carry?
It's endless. Our main supplier of apparel is S&S Activewear. Please visit their website to view their large assortment of apparel items.

Can you print on hoodies and other apparel?
Yes we can. Contact us to set up an appointment at our Oakland, CA Showroom. We can show you our apparel supplier's extensive inventory.

I have an idea for a t-shirt design that I sketched out. Can you translate my sketch to a design that will work on a t-shirt?
We can recommend designers that we've worked with who can help produce your idea so that it works on apparel.

What do you mean by editing a digital design?
Some designs need to be optimized for printing onto apparel. We achieve this via an  image editor (like Photoshop or Illustrator) to achieve quality results.

What is meant by upscaling a digital design?
A design in a digital format must be large enough so that a transfer will print clearly onto a t-shirt. Your designer can provide you with a large format design that will work on a t-shirt. If you have any questions about sizing or file formats, we'd be happy to communicate this with you designer if you like.

What file types do you accept?
A PDF file containing vector art is preferred and will yield the best result. Allowed file types: pdf, jpg, jpeg, png, .tif, .tiff, .ai, psd, svg.
