T-Shirt FAQs
Besides the t-shirt brand, how do you determine the final price for my order?
It comes down to a couple of factors: size of the design, and how much ink will be needed to produce your particular design and t-shirt. The larger the size and the more ink a design uses, the more our printing company charges us for each print.
What's the turnaround on an order?
Two week turnaround in most cases.
I have an idea for a t-shirt design that I sketched out. Can you translate my idea to a design that will work on a t-shirt?
Sorry, no. We recommend that you work with a designer who can take you concept and turn it into a digital file that we can print on a t-shirt. However, we can recommend designers that we've worked with who can help produce your idea.
What's the difference between a Basic and Premium T-shirt?
For a Basic t-shirt, we use Gildan or American Apparel tees. For Premium t-shirts, we use Comfort Colors. We have samples of these t-shirt brands at our Oakland Showroom. Our supplier also carries other brands like Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, BELLA + CANVAS, and JERZEES.
Are Screen Printed designs printed on transfers and then heat pressed onto a t-shirt?
Yes. This process has been around for decades. These prints can easily last for 50 washes.
What's a Direct To Film Transfer?
A direct to film (DTF) transfer is a heat-transfer process that involves printing a design onto a film and then transferring it to a fabric using a heat press. DTF has been around since the early 2000s but really started to be a popular process around 2020.
How durable is a Direct To Film Transfer?
With standard washing and drying, DTF prints can last for 50 washes.
What do you mean by upscaling a digital design?
A design in a digital format must be large enough so that a transfer will print clearly onto a t-shirt. Your designer can provide you with a large format design that will work on a t-shirt. If you have any questions about sizing or file formats, we'd be happy to communicate this with you designer if you like.
Can you print on hoodies and other apparel?
Yes we can. Contact us to set up an appointment at our Oakland, CA Showroom. We can show you our apparel supplier's extensive inventory.
